Our Story: Two Years and Many Beers!
Where it all started!
Can you relate?
Lots of guys hatch crazy ideas over beers, but not many make ’em happen. We did!
Lord of the Ringtones is the initial app from Gooberly Media, which was founded by Wes Precil and Dave Bastien – just a couple of fun-lovin’, beer-drinkin’ guys with a bit of tech industry experience who happen to know how to build apps and websites… and do some marketing too.
We took an idea hatched during happy hour and brought it to life. It took 2 years and many beers (thank God for all those happy hours!) to create Lord of the Ringtones, designing the details and working out the bugs over half-priced appetizers and $2 beers. And although it took much longer than expected, the effort was worth it and the results prove it.
Custom ringtones have never been so easy! They’re more fun, more personal, and they make you more productive too.
What’s next, you might ask? Well, the ideas and beers haven’t stopped, and although we can’t tell you just yet, it’ll certainly be another one worth waiting for!

The 99 Restaurant is where it all started. Several rounds of happy hour at the bar and the idea for the app was under way. Nothing like a beer in an ice-cold mug to get the creative juices flowing! Thanks 99!
This week’s office: KCs Rib Shack – Awesome barbecue and a great happy hour at the outdoor Tiki Bar! Great service, and great music too.
One of our favorite happy hour spots: Stark Brewing Company – Awesome beers and 1/2 price apps!
The Strange Brew Tavern has an awesome variety of beers, and an equally awesome happy hour… and a free popcorn machine!
If a game is on (which is most of the time) Billy’s Sports Bar is a great place to be. Not really a happy hour place, but great apps (not as great as our’s though 😉 ), great food, friendly people and pitchers of beer!
The Thirsty Moose Tap House has the best beer selection of any place in the area. The food is awesome too, and so is the service!
New England’s Tap House Grille is an awesome place with a great beer selection! We love their unique beer glasses, and how they fill them to the top, too. The food is also excellent, especially the Habanero Honey Wings and the Jalapeno Poppers. This place is definitely one of our favorite offices!
